​Fish from the beaches or from one of the two piers situated at the mouth of the Kowie River. From the main pier you have a good chance to catch a large shark or a game fish when swimming live baits. Shark fishing is best in bad weather (windy with murky water). Sharks up to 80 kg have been caught on a regular basis, not to mention some exceptional catches in the 400 – 500 kg range. Other species caught are shad (elf), pignose grunter, white mussel cracker, poenskop, bream and Kob. It is also possible to walk in the shallow water and use a trident fork to spear sole, an excellent table fish.
