Deep Sea

An experienced local skipper will take you through the Kowie River mouth to the reefs a few hundred metres off Port Alfred for an enjoyable day of light tackle fishing. All methods of fishing work off shore in this region; trolling, drop-shot, vertical jigging, lure fishing and, of course, bait fishing. There are a lot of big fish around including delicious edibles such as Cape yellowtail, kob (daga,) garrick, white steenbras, black mussel cracker, santer, slinger, rockcod as well as hammer head shark, great white shark, tiger, ragged tooth and black fin shark. Whilst fishing it is not uncommon to sight migrating whales, dolphins and the Mola Mola (sunfish). Keep what you catch within bag limits.
